Biotium Calcein AM, 20x50 ug
Calcein AM is a widely used green fluorescent cell marker. Calcein AM is membrane-permeant and thus can be introduced into cells via incubation. Once inside the cells, calcein AM is hydrolyzed by endogenous esterase into the highly negatively charged green fluorescent calcein, which is retained in the cytoplasm. Calcein AM is an excellent tool for the studies of cell membrane integrity and for cell tracing. Supplied in lyophilized form or as a solution in anhydrous DMSO at 4 mM (80011-1) or 1 mg/mL (1 mM) (80011-2). Calcein AM is also offered in our Cell Viability and Cytotoxicity Assay Kit. Biotium ViaFluor 488 Live Cell Microtubule Stain
ViaFluor™ 488 is a green fluorescent taxol probe with excitation/emission at 500/515 nm that allows fluorescent staining of microtubules in living cells for detection in the FITC channel. Supplied at 1000X in DMSO, with a vial of 100 mM verapamil, which can enhance staining in some cell types.

Luciferin is a common bioluminescent reporter used for in vivo imaging of the expression of luciferase. This water soluble substrate for the firefly luciferase enzyme utilizes ATP and Mg2+ as cofactors to emit a characteristic yellow-green emission in the presence of oxygen, which shifts to red light in vivo at 37°C. Through the utilization of ATP, the reaction can be further used to indicate the presence of energy or life in order to function as a life-death stain.

Biotium Concanavalin A, CF405M Conjugate
This product is fluorescently-labeled concanavalin A (Con A). Con A is a widely used lectin that selectively binds to a-mannopyranosyl and a-glucopyranosy residues, found in the cell wall of yeast and fungi, and the cell membrane of mammalian cells. CF dyes are Biotium's line of next-generation fluorescent dyes with advantages in brightness, photostability, and conjugate specificity compared to other fluorescent dyes. Blue fluorescent CF405M dye has excitation/emission at 408/452 nm.
Biotium Lumitein™ PROTEIN GEL STAIN, 100X
Lumitein™ is a luminescent dye designed for detecting proteins in SDS polyacrylamide (SDS-PAGE) gels, but that can also be used to detect proteins in native PAGE gels after an additional SDS incubation step. It is as sensitive as the best silver stain by detecting 1 ng or less protein. Unlike silver stain, however, Lumitein™ has a linear detection range of at least 3 orders of magnitude. Gels can be stained in 90 minutes or less without a separate fixation step. Lumitein™ has an excitation spectrum that makes detection possible with either a simple UV box or fluorescence laser scanner. Moreover, protein gel staining with Lumitein™ is compatible with downstream protein analyses such as mass spectrometry and Edman-based sequencing.

The nucleus is a membrane-enclosed organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Cell nuclei contain most of the cells genetic material organized as multiple long linear DNA molecules in complex with a large variety of proteins such as histones to form chromosomes. Traditionally DNA stains such as DAPI and Hoechst have been used for microscopy but require fixation and cannot be used for live cell imaging.The BioTracker 488 Green Nuclear Dye is a cell-membrane permeable green fluorescent DNA dye that specifically stains nuclei in live or fixed cells. It has excellent specificity for DNA without the need for a wash step and it has low toxicity for live cell imaging.
